New original tracks

Friday, March 23, 2012

Wassup everyone? If you want to check out some cool new music and see what I’ve been up to lately, you can do that RIGHT HERE. Practically every free moment I have had has been dedicated to composing and recording for an eventual solo release, which will be recorded live in the studio with a backing band I have already chosen. This stuff that I have been recording is just samples/demos of what is to eventually come. All of this I produced, recorded and performed myself, but I have a couple of guest musicians who you may know. ON the song “Kiss My Grits” my brother, Matt is on electric bass; and on “the Fold”, that cool guitar-like sounding instrument is Steve Benson on electric mandolin. Click on either “Launch the Steve Giannaros music player”, or the “Multimedia” link and they are the last four songs under “Other Downloads”. Enjoy! Peace, Steve

Pollotronik All-Stars, Thursday @ Toad

Monday, February 14, 2011

Hola, music fans! As many of you know, the Pollotronik All-Stars have taken a bit of a hiatus, as the band’s founder and fearless leader, Yahuba Garcia, has been extensively touring with the Ryan Montbleau Band, Martin Sexton, among others... On Thursday, 2/17, the Pollotronik All-Stars will be back in full force at Toad in Cambridge! No cover, usually things get started sometime after 10, and we will play late into the evening – http:www.toadcambridge.com. You will witness an obscene amount of jamming and hear improvisation at its finest, as well as songs by artists such as Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Mongo Santamaria, and Robert Glasper, to name a few. The lineup: Yahuba Garcia – congas and Percussion Peter MacLean – drums Jason Cohen – keys Ben Alman – bass Dan Abreu and Myself – dueling tenor saxophones and EWIs. The secret ingredient, and the basis of this band, is that we have never once rehearsed and wouldn’t have it any other way. So, if you didn’t know, now you know. ON another note, Organism has a handful of shows starting in March, so be sure to mark your calendar. Friday, March 25 @ the Dolphin Striker – Portsmouth, NH – 9:00PM Saturday, April 16 @ Chianti’s Jazz Lounge – Beverly, MA – 9:30PM Saturday, May 7 @ Toad – Cambridge, MA. – 10:30PM
